The artists represented in the Centred Art collection employ a range of different styles, reflecting the diverse cultural contexts in which they are created. The art echoes tribal and personal interpretations of traditional lore, and styles vary greatly between art producing regions. The ‘dot art' that traditionally characterises contemporary Aboriginal art is just one of many diverse styles of modern Aboriginal art. The more conventional pieces are executed in rich ochre tones, in contrast to modern looking paintings that feature explosions of colour and abstract or naïve forms.
