Sophie Straton - Ferrier is a Brisbane jewellery designer who comes from three generations of Scottish artists, though she's the first to "make" rather than "paint.

In 2007 she took the opportunity to start out on her own with her label "Strat Designs", which she designs and completely hand makes from her home in Wooloowin.

The Strat Designs range is all about colour, style and fun, featuring a variety of materials but especially, resin, glass and felt. She is also planning to incorporate some vintage pieces in the near future.

Sophie's range is designed primarily for women who appreciate pieces that are a little different, bold and versatile, a bit like themselves! She believes that as women lead increasingly busy lives, sometimes the simplest of outfits can be transformed with the right piece of jewellery, and that something eye-catching, colourful and quirky can literally brighten their day
